Flu Season
Okay, I know it's late, but this is pretty much the only time I have to myself. No kid, no husband, no house work. Just me and my computer. So I've had this sore throat cough thing for the past few weeks, thinking it was just a cold that was hanging on a little too long and then Saturday early afternoon my temp goes from 99 to 101.6 in 2 hours. Yep I got the flu. I'll spare you the details, but trust me it's the flu. Not necessarily H1N1, but I'm taking Monday off so I can let the meds kick in and get my voice back. In fact, I'm off to bed, because unfortunately my daughter doesn't know what sleeping in means. At least I might get the chance to nap with her tomorrow...that is if she takes a nap.

Okay, so it's been a few months since my last post. Abigail is now 7 months old! Where does the time go. In all honesty, I'm only getting back to this blog because it is a requirement for one of my classes I'm taking at Wilkes. I don't really have the time to update things like this very often. I'm not really sure how anyone does, but obviously people do it.

Welcome!
Welcome to my first attempt of blogging! I always thought that blogging was a waste of time, but now that my husband, Keith, and I are expecting our first child, I can see that it is especially beneficial for out-of-town family who want to be updated on what's going on in our lives.
As the big day approaches (12 weeks to go!) I feel more and more anxious, but excited that we will be welcoming a new member to our family. We cannot wait to meet this tiny being that we have created together.
We found out about our little bundle of joy on August 4th. The following day I took my parents to Baltimore for a concert and then on August 6th we drove up to Philly to catch a Phillies game as a late Father's Day present. During the game Keith snuck off to buy a baby Phillies baseball outfit to give to my mom and dad. When they opened it my mom burst into to tears and my dad couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear. It is their 6th grandchild, which they found out about on the 6th of August, during the 6th inning, and Ryan Howard (#6) hit a homerun. The Phillies ended up winning the game against Florida (5-0), which my mom couldn't care less about, but recently told me it was the best day of the year. It was definately a good trip with my parents.
Keith's parents were told about their first grandchild on the following Sunday during our weekly dinner. We surprised them with a grandma and grandpa baby outfit of their own. Smiles and hugs were abundant. Afterwards, I asked that they keep the news a secret because we wanted to tell Sara, Keith's sister, and the cousins from up north ourselves. It was difficult to wait until Sara came home in September, but it was well worth it. She is so excited to become an aunt. Although we didn't get to tell all the cousins in persons, we did have the chance to tell Aunt Mary over the phone. She was quick to spread the news though!
Since then, I've finished my MBA at Wilkes and still managed to coach soccer this fall at Prep (it was Keith's first year of not coaching X-country). We spent some time registering for baby gifts and putting the nursery together (green with turtles) and preparing as best we can for our upcoming addition. I am amazed at how fast the time has gone by. I hope to keep this blog updated frequently, but for those that know me, I tend to start something, get really excited about it for a while and then get bored and stop doing it. With a baby on the way, it may get crazy hectic, but I hope to to let everyone know how the pregnancy is progressing and of course keep you informed as to when Baby Davis arrives! We can't wait!!!
